The John Flew Archive
John L.C. Flew from Broadclyst was a charismatic and inventive agricultural agent heavily involved in the sales and development of Allis Chalmers tractors and equipment throughout the South West in the 1930s and 1940s.
Some of the photographs created for his advertising campaigns are reproduced on this website. Those from the original glass slides are shown courtesy of their owner Imbert May, who bought them at the Cheffins Sale in Cambridge.
A smaller set of photographs, printed from negatives, is shown at the bottom of the page.
MDTEMG are particularly indebted to the late Mike Brayne who expertly produced such high quality photographs for us from the original sources.
