As usual, MDTEMG held its Christmas party at the Memorial Hall, Morchard Bishop. As well as groaning tables of food and lots of conviviality amongst those present, the evening featured a presentation to Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT).
2017 was not only MDTEMG’s 35th anniversary, but also the 25th anniversary of DAAT starting flying. Over the years, MDTEMG had donated more than £20,000 to DAAT, which is the group’s principal charitable beneficiary.
With many members engaged in the agricultural sector, MDTEMG well recognises the crucial role played by DAAT in rural areas. Appropriately, the cheque was handed over to Graham Ley of DAAT by the MDTEMG chairman, Keith White, who had also presented the original cheque to DAAT back in 1991. In addition to the cheque for £700, a collection on the night raised an additional £67.06
The evening was further enhanced by the fine musicianship of two members of the Dartmoor Pixie Band, Rob Murch and Jason Rice, who played, sang and also gave a demonstration of Dartmoor Step Dancing.
A good time was had by all!
