Some of our members who live and/or work in and around that parish supported the Copplestone ‘End of Summer Family Fun Day’ where we did our best in rather ‘mixed weather’. It was very wet underfoot at the beginning and there were some heavy showers. But at least some of our members got a free ice cream (in the middle picture see Derrick Smith (left) and Edgar Petts, standing in front of Derrick’s engine on the right and some of Edgar’s tools and implements) as a reward for towing out the bogged-down ice cream van.

In thanking the club, the organisers noted:

“In what was a challenging day given the weather conditions that presented themselves, we were very grateful for the fact that you all turned up as promised and put on an interesting and informative display. Your tractor and machinery display, alongside the Classic cars certainly generated much interest and it was a key part to the success of our day ….. we raised £3000 towards the new Community Hall from the event and our sponsors.”
